About the work:

“Hand” is a sculpture made of golden-colored metal, mounted on a dark, contrasting base. It shows a fragment of the human body – the palm and part of the forearm – frozen in a dynamic gesture. The spread fingers suggest movement, openness, readiness to receive or offer. In the realism of form meets monumentality and symbolism: the human gesture becomes a universal sign of communication and relationship between man and the world.

Creative process:

Work on “Hand” began with an anatomical study – observation and sketches of the hand in various positions. Then a clay model was created, which allowed capturing both muscle tension and the natural arrangement of fingers. After establishing the form, a metal cast was made, which gave the work permanence and timeless character. The final finishing – smoothing and polishing the surface – brought out light reflections, emphasizing every detail of the shape and giving the sculpture an aura of nobility.

Inspirations:

The inspiration for creating “Hand” came from gestures as carriers of emotions and meanings. The human palm – a tool of work, touch, communication – became here a universal symbol. From cave paintings, through Renaissance anatomical studies, to contemporary sculptural explorations, the motif of the hand returns in art as a sign of human contact with reality and with another human being. “Hand” in this version symbolizes openness and potential – a gesture that simultaneously gives and receives.
