About the work:
“Parthenope” refers to the myth of the siren, daughter of Achelous, who sought to enchant Odysseus and his companions with her song. When her voice failed to captivate the sailors, she threw herself into the sea, and the waves carried her body ashore at the place where Naples would later arise. The sculpture, like an echo of this story, merges elements of the female figure with the movement of water.
